seen my surgeon

Well I went to see my surgeon today and he did an anal ultrasound and found that I have an abcess throughout my whole rectal area. Plus the sphincterplasty that was done in Feb did not take. He did a manometry and my readings were lower than before. After talking to him and going over my results he told me I only had a 50% chance of being contiant after my surgery but he said that would be on the good side. He said with my history of abcesses and the fact that my spincter muscles are almost completely gone he is recommending that he remove everything and do a permanent colostomy. Is a colostomy better or the same as the ileostomy. I dont even know what to think.
