making a decision.... the doc has given me two weeks

 

  Why is the word constipation laughed at?...when you are told you have to have your Organs removed because of it (slow transit in upper and middle bowel) its not that funny! Especially when your a 31 year old woman with a bright future ahead of you! I feel like people need to be educated on this subject...I have had this since I can remember and it was always brushed off as " just constipation" I feel really sad about all of this and have just found out this today after months of tests...Only for my own persistance I would not have been diagnosed... lets get it out there to children and parents...this is a serious condition!!!!

There are hundreds of disorders and diseases that are laughed at by people who are ignorant or naive. I think GI disorders in general are the most maligned but that's my bias. I had the opposite problem as you, chronic diarrhea. You wouldn't believe how many stupid women felt that I was "lucky" to have chronic diarrhea as it kept me underweight! Stupid, stupid, stupid. All those idiots who made light of my illness are no longer my friends. I don't have the time or patience to deal with people who are not supportive of me. I suggest you distance yourself too.
