Sorry I've been away for so long ... been nursing myself back to heath. The first week went so well and then things started going downhill.
Last weekend I ended up in the ER, admitted for 2 days for dehydration. Now I'm on immodium to slow my stoma down!!!!

Things are better, I have more and more energy. I'm starting to get ancy and looking forward to my takedown surgery on June 3rd.

Still having problems with my wafer sticking down. The tape around the edge does not stick!!! It comes apart near to my naval. The other side is just fine. Any ideas on what i can do for this please?

do you use flat wafer or one w/ convexity? do you use eakin seal?

I use the 1" convex wafer from convatc. Also I use the paste.

try cutting the corner off, just a little, and the area should stay down. Do you use skin prep?

I had problems with the tape sticking, too, in that area. Now I just cut off a little bit of it and I don't have any issues!

Sorry you had to go back into the hospital for dehydration. That happened after my ileostomy surgery, too. They are so active at first that it's hard to keep up with the fluid intake by mouth.

I had surgery 2 weeks ago for a perforated small bowel and got a temporary ileostomy that's high up in the small intestine. It's so active that I have to be on IV fluids at home until I have it reversed next month.

When it comes to getting a tight seal with the wafer, I cut the hole in the wafer off to one side to shift it away from the belly button. Hopefully, that will work for you, too.

I have the pre-cut wafers :-/
I am using the skin prep as well .. the wipes. It almost feels like that whole side of the wafer is lifting up. I can see the paste underneath it and that's holding pretty good.
I just feel uncomfy with it up like that ...

Not sure if cutting it a bit on one side will help ... trying to figure out the physics behind that :-)

the skin wipes can shorten your wear time, when i was using them as soon as my wafer got the tiniest bit wet, even from sweat, it popped right off!
the bandaid type part always peels back at my belly button. But because of how i tape the top ofmy bag down it holds that down. But you could also put a little piece of medical tape on the bandaid part to hold it down.

I called up Hollister and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. They are sending me samples of a bunch of stuff which should work for me .... let's see if I can get this thing down :-)

By the time I'm an expert at this .. it'll be time for the takedown.

I saw her too- last week. Was having trouble with two areas that hadn't closed up yet. She is great.

I am ok... getting used to work - started back on Monday. Have been really tired but glad I am getting stuff done.

I'm still not back to work ... just get tired and can't focus yet ...
By the time I'm ready I guess it'll be time to go back under the knife and then recover again ... :-/

My wafer is giving so many problems !!!
