I just found out that I am having surgery on Tuesday 5/26 for a colostomy. It'll be laparoscopic. I'm super excited because I can't wait to feel better, I've been desperate to feel better for a long time, and have been so excited waiting for a date. But I just got really nervous about
having surgery all of a sudden. Will everything go ok? Will I be ok? What if for some reason it doesn't work and I still feel like I do when I wake up? I'm just nervous I guess, no specific questions for anyone, just voicing my fears.
I met with my ostomy nurse the other day and she is very nice. We are going to try the irrigation thing. She said we can start as soon as 3 days after surgery! I just figured I would have to wait for a long time to start, so that is exciting. I really hope I can do it.
The whole thing is pretty exciting ( weird I know, who gets excited about a colostomy?) I guess I just haven't thought a lot about actually having the surgery. I've just been focused on the results.
Well, thanks for listening! I hope everyone is having a great day!
