New ileostomy on Friday morning and an doing great so far!

Hi every body.  I had my colectomy in 8/07, but in 3/09 it startd not working and  my only choice was to do an ileostomy. I have a motilility dosorder and my stools were not moving.  I am on a clear liquids diet  and might be aboe to have some food tomorrow.

Everyone at the hospital, and my husband, have been wonderful to me.  My ileo is temporary though, if I ever want to change it.  Palms Of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg does this and has thei oqn specialized traing wing.

Lori-

So glad to hear you are doing so well......everything went smoothly. Is the stoma working yet or still asleep? I wish you the best. Still thinking of reversing it like me???? I hope we can both find this as an option down the road after recevering from the ileo. Thinking of you and praying for you daily.

Hey Lori,
I'm glad you're doing so well. Have you met with an ostomy nurse yet? When you remove the wafer they gave you in surgery, ask the nurse for some adhesive remover wipes to help get it off. I hope you get to eat some real food tomorrow!

Glad you are being taken care of well.

You are going to feel so much better!

When you finally get to eat, even the hospital food will taste soooo good.
