I have really had it easy for almost 2 years now, but for the last few days I have been having those crampy gassy pains in my lower abdomen just like I had when I had a colon. If I could only press some gas out like I used to with the colon, it would ease the pain. What do ileostomies do? Jennie

Oh, I'm sorry you're in pain. If it's trapped gas, chewable Gas-X would help and lay in bed on your left side. I don't know why that helps expel gas, but it does. A heating pad on the spot where the pain is helps, too.

you can also pump your legs up and down, like you do a baby when they have gas, that helps you move the gas out, or sit up and rock back and forth, no idea why that works, but it does.

It's been 7 weeks since surgery, and I'm doing a lot better. Thanks for asking.
Are you feeling any better today?

Well I am still having the lower belly cramps. Guess I'll have to call my doctor tomorrow. I have been bragging too much about
not having any problems. :(
