I'm eight months post reversal. about the first of this month I noticed a small bulge just to the right of my incision. Of course my whole abdomen is bulgey and bumpy from all the drain cuts and retention sutures, but it's gotten a little bigger and sometimes makes a gurgling noise when pressed.

Anybody have a similar experience? I believe this is called, appropriately enough, an incisional hernia. ( I had double inguinals and an umbilical repaired five years ago.)

I know exactly what you are going through! In fact, I am having my third hernia repair surgery this Thursday since February!

Mine is so big it looks like a baby's head. It is quite painful, and it is the biggest one I've experienced. I have the gurgling noises also. I compare it to when I had the colostomy bag, and you could feel the gurgle happening, and the "feeling" of when the bowel movement was passing.

I hope that this will be my last surgery! My problems started in August of 2008 when I had emergency surgery to remove an abcess. It was attached to my bladder and colon, and was in the hospital for three weeks.

My surgeon tells me to wear a hernia belt or some sort of body shaping underwear. I wear Spanx to hold my stomach in place. It was uncomfortable at first, but now I can't even sleep without them!
