So, I am supposed to be returning to college in mid-August and have yet to have my reversal. I have a meeting with my surgeon on Monday and assume that I will get a date for the next surgery then. I know everyone has different recovery times and what not but does anyone have thoughts on the matter? Do you think I should be able to go back to school in August or should I start looking into how to cancel my housing and stuff just to be on the safe side? When I had the first surgery in May I really thought things would progress much faster than they did, and now I am concerned. The thought of taking a semester off disgusts me, but at the same time if I can't handle adjusting to the j-pouch/classes/ walking everywhere I go, I guess it's what I should do.
Also, I thought since my surgery is (hopefully) coming up I'd see what foods people have found helpful to eat after the reversal. I was looking on J-pouch.org about people eating blue berries and other foods I've just been a little bit concerned about eating for fear of a blockage (maybe I'm too cautious). Anyway, does the list of foods recommended to avoid change at all?
