Gastrografin enema questions

So, my gastrografin enema is on Monday and what is it like? I read that it is like a barium enema and they are just checking out to make sure there are no leaks but does it hurt?

Before my surgery the doc forgot to order prep the night before so I spent the half hour before surgery in the bathroom with the nurse cleaning me out with these HUGH enemas! It was not my most favorite moment....

Tell me it is just a little liquid and I don't have to hold it long... cry

Do you mean pouchogram?  If so it's the last of the humiliating exams!  It's not bad, just uncomfortable.  Bring extra ostomy supplies in the event you have a blow-out.  It's not common but best to be prepared!

I had both a gastrografin enema, and it put through my stoma. Neither experience was bad. The enema was the worst, but I didn't have to hold it long. I don't even remember being asked to hold it. The worst part, was that I dropped my cell phone in the toilet, as I was getting ready to put my shirt on. Then when they put it through my stoma, that was really pretty interesting, the doctor pointed out to me what he was looking at. I then said, well there's just one problem, I can't see anything. They had had me take off my glasses, for when I laid on my side. The nurse didn't realize i wasn't having the gastrografin enema at the same time. Once they handed me my glasses, it was cool.
