Hello ostomates...

I need your advice on something. So I have been sick since Sunday with vomiting and nausea, but I have still had ouput. Today is has really slowed down. I have emptied 1/2 full mini bag twice in comparison to my normal 10. I also developed a fever today and have had it all day of 101. I also have a sore on my tongue and this makes me wonder if its just viral. I do not know who I should call....I think I may be getting dehydrated. I just tried to eat some sherbert, pudding, and oyster crackers and puked 10 min later in shower. Also, Its hard to get fluid down becuase of the sor eon my tongue. My ileo site is reddened, but it always is. My skin has some yeast, but it has for a while.....just wondered who I should cal  if I do not start getting better. This has been since Sunday early am......

I'd call the GI, if they don't seemed concerned they will tell you what to do. I figure it is better to be safe than sorry! Feel better Lizzie!

I would go straight to your C/R Doc...you sound like you may have a partial blockage which is leading to dehydration...vomiting is usually a sign of obstruction but can also be caused by dehydration (fever, too)...so, if you've had this issue since Sunday, you need to get some IV fluids to start and see what happens from there!

After you are rehydrated, the docs can figure out if its an obstruction or flu...keep us posted!

Thanks guys for your replies...I may have had a partial obstruction. I do not know. My fever has finally gone away, but I am still nauseated and puking anything substantial. I feel weak and a bit dehydrated, but I have to work this afternoon....I may just have them give me a liter of saline after work. One of the perks of being a nurse :) Hopefully this will all pass soon....going to New York this weekend and want to feel good for my husband.
