Hi all,
I was in the urgent care a couple weeks ago because of bad pains I had running down my right and left legs. Well, I underwent anesthesia yesterday for a sigmoidoscopy and the pains returned, but this time more severe:( When this happened two weeks ago, my potassium was 3.4. Normal is 3.5-5. I know it's a tight window with potassium but do you think this could have been the cause? I had my labs drawn 3 days ago an my potassium was normal at 4.0. I am not sure if I got depleted because of the scope and not eating/drinking much yesterday. I guess my question is, do those of you without a colon always deal with electrolyte imbalance issues/symptoms? Should I be checking my labs regularly or only when I feel something weird going on. It is so frustrating because I can barely stand from the pain. I am sitting in bed and they are still crampy and feel numb. I had an ultrasound 3 days ago but there was no blood clot. Not sure what to make of all of this. Any insight would be helpful! Thanks.
