sureseals, what the heck

I saw some sureseals at the medical outlet I buy from the other day and picked some up. Are these meant to be used with a two piece floating flange system? (read: hollister new image) I couldn't fit the sureseal over the flange, perhaps I bought the wrong size?

i wear mine with the new image.
i think i ended up having to get the larger ones.
And i cut them and put them on that way.
Its hard to get them on though.

I don't use the floating flange...so I am not sure on that part, but there are different sizes. I've tried different sizes and find the small to work for me. I think with the 'floating' part you'd need one of the larger ones. Will they give you samples of each to try?

Ron, that is the type of appliance that has very little profile...the two pieces are joined together with adhesive instead of the plastic tupperware type.

I use Hollister New Image and it IS the Tupperware type closing system with plastic rings. The ring (flange) that is attached to the skin barrier (it is a 2 piece system) is attached by a 1/4 inch clear plastic membrane that makes it "float" above the skin barrier. Boy, I hope im explaining this right, I keep pulling my pants down to get a better idea of it...and Im at work...LOL. The pouch snaps onto the skin barrier/ flange. Im not sure what sure seals are, so I looked it up and I think (I may be out in left field) it's to help prevent leaks? If so, why would you put it OVER the flange and not against your skin/under the skin barrier? Im so confused. Typical Allie state of mind though. LOL.

Allie~they don't just prevent leaks..they also keep the cloth part of the wafer dry (which prevents the edges from lifting) and makes drying off after a shower quick and easy:) They help a lot if you work out or are active!

Oh, and I was thinking the 'floating' part was the appliances that don't have the tupperware...just the adhesive...I'm gonna have to look that up, I may be off base on that!

well they dont keep you from having leaks,but if you have one they help keep if from coming out!
the big thing they help with is keepign the wafer dry, so that can increase wear time,and its less annoying to swim and shower.
