I know this question has been raised a few times and Im sorry to repeat it if I am. I currently have a colostomy, In the last 4 months I have had three bowell obstructions. Some of the stool that comes out of the stoma is very hard and causes abdominal pain when trying to come out. He said that he thought the left side wasnt working well and that we needed to go into fix it. He said he would like to go back to the tranverse colon and make a permanant colostomy there but he wanted to do a sitz marker test first to make sure my small intestines was ok. I had already been taking miralax everyday but did stop it once I took the pill. Now I do get some soft output, Im not sure how much stool you should get daily, but I know that when they did the ct scan my colon was full of stool. If I eat anything greasy or with milk in it I do tend to get a more liquidy output. I know when I had my last surgery he said that there was some very hard stool still up in my colon even after cleansing. I guess Im just afraid that the rings are going to come out with the liquid and be inaccurate.
