Feeling great, but ....

I have a temp ileo right now awaiting my reversal .... but I have to say that today was prolly the best day I have felt in like 3 years minus the few aches here and there. The only thing that bothers me is if I stand up for too long or even walk around for a while I get tired and my abdominal area feeels fatigued. I mean I am like 5.5 weeks out from surgery ... is this somewhat normal. You have to remember I am a fireman that was in tip top shape and now I have been inactive for some time because of UC. So what I am asking is quite a big deal especially from where I am coming from. Thanks guys!

Yes, my stomach felt tight for a good month or so after surgery too. But I gave it time and stretched it out and made an effort to sit up really straight and I am totally regular now.

My husband had his surgery 02/04/10 he had is ileostomy bag till may 20 . that was ok. may 20 his had his reversal. the doc said he will be going to the bathroom 10 times a day. thats ok. BUTT does anyone had a problem with the butt being raw and bleeding. he does take a bath and shower after a BM but his butt is a disaster and it burns and has open sores and it hurts him so mcuh.....any one have a solution. does it get better? it's been 2 weeks after his reversal. ive tried desitin and all other over counter ointment. Really does it get better.

Yes that butt burn was horrible and painful. I tried everything but I swear by Acquaphor cream. Usually found in the baby aisle with the baby ointments. It was a lifesaver. Use it liberally...and within an hour I always felt totally fine. Hope it works. Good luck to you!
