Coffee and Temp Ileo

I haven't drank coffee in years because of UC. So I have been enjoying a few cups in the morning now, but I have noticed my output has increased and not sure if it is due to the coffee or not. Sounds like a stupid question, but just curious if anyone has noticed such. Thank you!

I've noticed the same thing. I love Coffee!! Even before my iliostomy if I drank it on an empty stomach (first thing in the morn) it would have me in the bathroom. I just thought because caffiene is a stimulant it sped things up quite a bit. When my Crohns got bad I gave up on coffee because i was in the bathroom enough as it was. Now that I've had my perm iliostomy I can enjoy coffee again! Although it does make me "go" a little more, it doesn't cause discomfort any more, and for that I'm greatful! Cheers!! *takes another sip of coffee*

Try the dunkin decaf coffee lightly sugared or with stevia sweetner. Steveia is a derivative of corn. This is a NICE non-stimulating morning drink. I love coffee too.

LOL @ Anthony! I was doing much of the same thing, though now have gained 40lbs since surgery amd have jiggly bits in the wrong places..ACK!
Try peanut butter on buttermilk pancakes, thats sure to add some lbs. I also put butter on EVERYTHING, butter on bread? yes, butter on corn? yes, deep fry a pancake battered Mars bar and add butter? SIGN ME UP!

The one good thing about the malabsorption issues I was having was that I could eat anything and LOSE weight. Now I'm back on the pred, though, and it's not the same :D

Yes, I had the first one early because my stoma was below skin level and my skin was getting eaten away. I developed a rectal/vaginal fistula and had to have another ostomy put in on the other side. Then we waited 3 months or so and had the takedown again. I am so lucky that the fistula healed on its own and has not come back.

I've been eating like crazy also. I've been afraid to eat peanut butter though, but the other day I bought some Reese's Pieces and I ate the whole bag and it didn't bother me so I dunno.

I've been eating like 9 times a day now. And since my energy is starting to come back I've been staying up till midnight and waking up at 8ish. Not working, though, is driving me nuts. I feel like I have enough energy to go back to my old job, which was an office job as tech support, but it is stressful so I'm kinda iffy about going back so soon instead of waiting until after step two.
But going outside right now is a no because the heat index is getting up to 100+ and I'd rather not get dehydrated. The other day I braved the heat cause I had errands to do and I had to take 3 bottles of water while out.

Any ideas on what do to while out of work and recovering? All I do right now is surf the internet, practice forex trading and play my DS.
I was trying to go back to college but because of the surgery I missed the deadline for registration, so now I have to wait until July 5 when they do drop/add so I can sign up for classes then.
