hey guys, been away for a while, well first my computer broke, took few days to get the new one, then holidays..... so much to catch up on..
Leslie, oh my gosh.... that description of what happened to you when you fainted is horrible! poor girl! i'm glad you're investigating this, should not let this go i just still get so worked up every time i think of what happened to you.
Tracy, so sorry about that yeast, hope it's better soon. about the wafer, when i used hollister's it peeled off of me very easily too in the shower, it couldn't last for more than 2-3 days, but coloplast's wafer sticks so much better for me, even if i shower 2/day (so hot and humid here too), it still lasts for a whole week! that is just awesome!
i also SO wish i could have the rectum removed. the enemas are not working so great for me, i hate it. did a second enema few days ago (second one since surgery). well what happened is that i lay on my left side and inserted the stuff in and... it was so weird, the stuff made it's way out through the nonfunctional hole of my ileo right into the bag.... lol it was just so awkward then i sat on the toilet and had the rest out the regular way (had to strain really hard), but the mucus itself DIDN'T come out . an hour later when i peed, a bit of mucus came out, but not all of it. this is just too frustrating!
Janie, hey hon, thanks! i'm still not sure what i'm gonna do. my boss is back on Oct. 1st, i should decide till then. sorry about the teeth situation, believe me, i know how unpleasant this is, hope it works out soon!
Gilda, gosh, i'm so sad to hear about your isolation and i can so relate. if you have to strain so hard for a bm (even watery stools), so maybe that's another reason for your multiple trips to the b/r, cuz apparently your evacuation is incomplete, what makes you run to the b/r again and again. the straining is also really not good for you. it's one of the main reasons why i chose to have an ileostomy, cuz i could feel my whole pelvic was starting to deteriorate and my last defecography also said that my pelvic is starting to descent, something that didn't show on the previous one i did 2 yrs ago. so i realized that for me, the straining is ruining my whole pelvic with big steps, so by having an ileostomy, not only that i don't have pain and obstructions any more, but i'm also saving my pelvic from further issues and maybe even future surgeries. i agree with your other dr, an ileostomy will give you relief.
Allie, sounds like your mind is pretty much set on having the ileo. the rectal spasms do sound awful, so yes, maybe in the future they'd agree to remove it. i hope your parents get over their fears and worries soon for your sake. prayers things work out for you at last, sweetie!
