Thanks Rosemary. Yes, it sure was a very rough decision to make whether to have this surgery. I had become prednisone dependent. For the last two years I was on prednisone more than off. It was ruining my health, big time.
I may have mentioned that my surgeon refused to do a j-pouch on me because he said at my age it would be worse than going through open heart surgery. When I told him I had no trouble wearing a bag, he immediately was ready to schedule the surgery. When he examined my rectum, he said..."wow, you really are in pain." Which I most definitely was but now I am still in pain!!! He said there could be complications with the surgery, as there are with any surgery but never said what they were. I should have asked him..."Like what complications?" Hindsight is 20/20.
Instead of sending my husband over to Philly with the CD on Tuesday, I am going to phone Dr. Fry's office on Tuesday and insist on seeing him on Wednesday and I will take the CD with me.
It was my belief that scar tissue formed when one has numerous operations in the same area. I have never had an operation other than a T & A and D & C.
