I did have my rectum and colon...both..removed. My main problem has always been my rectum but, unfortunately, with ulcerative colitis, in my case proctitis, they will not remove just the rectum because the ulcerations can come back in the colon. The surgeon left the anus. That was my question to him..why???
Tomorrow can not come soon enough, as I am having sooo much discomfort. The stoma is working like a charm. This really sucks that I am bleeding and in pain. Hopefully, the surgeon will discover something on the CD that the radiologist missed and can easily be fixed. Easily...yeah right..lol.
