 What do you do ya'll when your Dr./Shoulder/Sympathectic ear/Friend who has treated you with respect and dignity,

LISTENS to what you have to say intently and has been caring and genuinely concerned for you.........DIES? cry cry cry cry cry cry

 

 I take offense to people saying, "he was JUST your Dr. you will find another one"...NO ONE but NO one can fill his shoes.

I am LOST--Grieving-In shock and disbelief and MAD that this loving caring man has been snatched away from me. cry

 

He started the Hospice in my area 30 years ago-He had delivered thousands of babies and saw many from birth through dying.

 

A general practitioner who had MANY patients who loved him dearly. It was a long wait to see him, BUT, when he walked into the room he gave you his undivided attention and spent at MUCH time that was needed to care for you and your needs.

 

Dr. Warren Borgquist or Dr. "B" as he was called, I will miss you MUCH! I know that you are in Gods presence reaping many rewards.

so sorry you lost the dr you so love.. :( losing someone you love has to be hard. time will heal your wounds.

Thx 2B---I don't think time can heal this emptiness..in the last 6 weeks I've lost a cousin, an Aunt and now my beloved Dr.
I want to just RUN AWAY!

I am so sorry for your loss. I totally understand how you feel. My dear sweet internist, who has guided me through 2 surgeries and has been the one Dr. I've depended on and trusted for the last 20 years has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. I've written here several times that when my surgeon wasn't sympathetic to my concerns, or didn't seem to want to be bothered, my internist answered all questions and explained things much better than my own surgeon. I totally trust him, and now I'm in the process of looking for another doctor and it's just so difficult.

Ten years ago I had a double mastectomy. The oncology surgeon, who was wonderful and so helpful (and young) died of a heart attack six months after my surgery. The last time I saw him in his office he said "just come see me every 6 months and I'll check you out and take care of you". I never saw him again. I was devastated then also. It was such a shame (he was only 43) and it took a long time to get over that.

I do understand, and again, I'm so sorry for your loss. We just have to trust and believe there are other good doctors out there. I've been asking neighbors and friends for referrals, but I don't feel it will be the same with any other doctor. You can't replace 20 years of history like that.

Janie, Thank you for sharing. It's comforting to know that others DO know how I feel.
I am sorry for your losses..when you have a repor with a Dr you REALLY trust , one who has been MORE than just a whiz in for 2 -5 minutes , One who really cared about you and then POOF-GONE :-( It is a devestating experience.
I do have an appointment with a new Dr this month, but it won't be the same.
