What causes cramping in my stomach after meals mainly lunch? I have had an ileostomy for four months now. I also need to drink lots because I get dehydrated easily, any good drinks, juices smoothies to recommend?

I could be what you are eating try softer foods like after your surgery. Or you might be flairing or a partial obstruction you might need a ct scan to find out . I would talk to your dr.

Yep, get that CT scan. Cramping pain especially after eating is possibly a partial obstruction. Stick to soft foods and liquid protein drinks until you get a diagnosis. Rosemary

I will have cramping in my stomach right away if I drink more than 1/4 glass of milk. It happens every time after I have had my ileostomy. But the cramping goes away really fast, usually in 30 minutes.

Thank you for your prompt reply to help me. I will try the soft foods and keep a check on it in case it is a blockage.
