odor from colostomy

Just recently had a permanent colostomy due to colo/rectal cancer. how do I keep the odor down without having to get expensive odor reducing drops? any help would be appreciated.

I haven't tried this and it's a bit strange but the et nurse said when she had her ostomy she threw a couple tic tacs in there. It's cheap so it may be worth a try :o)

I use peroxide.  Very cheap and very effective. Just about a capful will do.

Everytime you empty put it in your pouch.  I get a quart size bottle for around $1.00  Good luck, let me know if it works.

Yup, hydrogren peroxide. I use it too. Super cheap and super effective. You casn buy it at any drugstore!

I use the Hydrogen Peroxide too - no stronger than the 3% solution though (it's used for cuts and scrapes and can even be used as a mouth wash). It's available in the first aid section of your supermarket.
