I have my first surgery next week.  An ilostemie?  Then, two others after.  Right now I am just really scared.  Worried about bags, infections, etc.....  Any advice would be wonderful.  Going through Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis.

     The best of luck to you.  I could say, don't worry, but it is only natural.   As long as you found a good colorectal surgeon with a good reputation who has done a lot of surgeries such as the one you anticipate, you'll be ok.  It takes time to heal and take it slow.  Read up on these posts.  God bless.

YOu will be ok. It is natural to be nervous. Like Christine said, read up on our posts and then if you have specific questions, let us know. YOu will be ok, I promise!!

Tiaeight,

I clicked on your name and took a look at some of your previous posts.  Sounds like you are in the exact same situation I am in.  You can click on my name and read my story about trying to get rid of this stupid fistula.  I had the surgery where they took the gracialis muscle out of my leg and grafted it into my rectal area and created a temporary ileotomy on November 10th.  You say you will have two more surgeries.  I know one will be to take down the ileostomy.  What is the other one?

like they said, i could tell you not to worry, but that's silly, you have to worry its only natural.
Just remember how much healthier you will be!
