My son is 5 now, and he has this horrible gag reflex, he will gag over anything, the other day i was eating a banana and it grossed him out and he almost threw up! however he can stick his nose in his little cousins poopy diapers, lol.
But most of the time, he can't control the gagging, i guess he hasn't figured it out yet, and he throws up. And sometimes he wakes up with acid in his throat and throws up. It doesn't bother him, he throws up and he goes right back about his business, doesn't cry about it, doesn't care. the dr's have all told us not to worry unless it bothers him or causes him to lose weight. He used to do it every day, literally, he would cry and get himself so worked up he would throw up, but he did quit that, however that does still happen occasionally.
When he was born, he got stuck and the cord was around his neck, he swallowed a lot of fluid and before he was even 6 hours old he had to have his stomach pumped 3 times. I think that the action might have damaged his throat and caused this. We have had one dr say maybe, but the rest all say, no way.
Anyway, anybody got any ideas about this, or what we could do?
