has anyone heard of it? it is supposed to serve the purpose as sure seals. i didn't know about this product, but someone here (in israel) offered it. we have tegaderm in israel, but we don't have sure seals. here's the link for it:

has anyone tried it before? is it as good as sure seals? cuz if it is, then maybe there's no point ordering sure seals if tegaderm is also good enough and easier for us israelie folks to purchase.

I haven't tried tegaderm instead of sure seals, but this is what they use all the time when I'm at the hospital to put over where the IV goes in. I had a piece of it over an X made with magic marker before my surgery, and it was there for a week..... I took many baths, and the X stayed. I also had it over the bandage after my JP drain was taken out, and that kept it dry.

I think it probably is the same or similar to the sure seal material, and I think it could work. Never thought of it before..... worth a try. It does feel about the same to me (I've been using the sure seals and liking them)

It is very good and I have found on my wafer sure seals don't stick properly anyway as the outer edge it like a mefix material and for some reason the sure seals or anything like it won't stay stuck. So I have used opsite,which is similar to tegaderm but cheaper in UK and my GP has just my on prescription for me mefix on a roll so I can cut it tio lengths I want and that stays put brilliantly, so great for extra security if I feel I need it.

I use the tegaderm as my insurance won't cover the sure seals...I get the 2 x 2(i think they are a little bigger) pieces and cut them in half I use about 3 full sheets (cut in half for 6 pieces) and it stays on pretty good like the sure seals... It is weird as these are more expensive than the sure seals....Trixiemom

I was just looking them up, thinking they might be cheaper than the sure seals, as they are used so much more frequently, and I was surprised to find what Trixiemom says, definitely more expensive.

thanks for your replies everyone. it's good to know the tegaderm is efficient enough. my sister sent me some sure seals (she lives in San Diego). i gave it to 3 more ostomates to try and we all liked it a lot. now i only need to try tegaderm and see if it works as good. we get tegaderm for free, so maybe it's better to stick to it.
