bleeding around stoma

     Whenever I change my bag, about twice a week, I always have a bit of bleeding when I wipe off my stoma.  However, today it seemed to be bleeding a bit more than usual.  Last week, while vacationing, I had a minor blockage but managed to work it out.  Do you think that is the reason it is bleeding a bit more?  No biggy, but just wondering.

     By the way, it was GREAT to finally be able to go camping in our RV without the port a pot.  Wonderful to go to restaurants with our friends instead of just sitting back at our camper because I was always afraid I would have an accident yeah .

Perhaps you knocked it or something which made it more sensitive when you wiped it the next time you cleaned your bag out?! Mine bleeds on and off, sometimes more blood than other times. I put it down to the fact that I might have wiped it too much or too hard. I think if there is only a small amount there is nothing to worry about. :)

are you using a wafer that is cut (one that comes ready and you don't need to cut)? or you have to cut it your self?
with the ones you have to cut your self, sometimes if you cut the hole too small it can injure the stoma.

     Hodaya, I am using the Coloplast Sensura already pre-cut.

if the bleeding doesn't stop or intensify, call the stoma nurse. hope it's nothing serious.

I know I don't do this, but I know I SHOULD...see my stoma nurses every year to make sure things are ok!!! I usually only go when I am concerned about something and that has been twice in about 11 years, lol!

Can you make an appointment just to have things looked at?

Glad you had fun:) We just got back from the lake and boating is so much fun when you aren't worried about having to "go"!
