Surgery

Just wanted to say thanks for the support everyone!  Tomorrow I am going in to remove all of my colon!  Wish me luck, and I hope this is the beginning of a healthier, happier life for me!

5 months ago for my husband and it is amazing the 180 that his life has taken.

You will probably have a lot of the same questions we all had starting out. We'll be here waiting to help you out.

best of luck Kyle! i don't know if Nanci told you this, but she asked me to tell you that the more you walk after surgery, the sooner they'll be able to quit with heparin shots (yeah those shots are aweful). i walked a lot after surgery, but i don't remember it affecting the heparin shots. but walking is good anyways, so do walk as much as you can after surgery.

Awesome that you're doing well and going home. It will definitely take some time to adjust; it's a very big deal. Besides the technical issues of dealing with pouches and the like, weird as it sounds, you need to adjust to being healthier. It's an excellent problem to have, but it's surprised me how much of a transition it is.

You do need more time to heal though, and to build your strength back up.
