This is part of my leakage issue but I'm posting separately because it has more to do with clothes.

I have been buying super large panty hose so that I can still pull them up over the bag. I hoped that the large size would allow extra room and not press up against the stoma so that the stool would get stuck there and cause a leakage.

It worked for some days and then suddenly last Monday, I had a leakage at work. I thought it was because of the panty hose, so from that day on I've been wearing the bag over my underwear and over the pantyhose, just hanging under my dress.

I also can't wear a tight skirt or pants or jeans, although I read all over that people with ostomies are wearing whatever they want. I doN#t think I can.

Any insight here?

there shouldn't be a problem wearing tight clothes. i usually wear skirts, but under the skirt i wear women's boxer undies, they are tight, but not too tight and very comfortable. doesn't cause me any problems. panty hoses are strechy, so i would think that even if they're tight, they shouldn't cause problems. maybe the leakage was due to some other reason?

The last time I wore jeans, the stool piled up on the stoma and stayed there, so it leaked.

Same with pantyhose, although sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Would one of those pouch lubricant products help? Just a thought, I never used them, but maybe they would make the stool more slippery and it wouldn't bunch up so much?

B'Derech~do you have really thick output all the time? Do you use convexity? Taking fiber supplements?

Just thinking out loud...maybe we can figure something out to help:)

I just never wear pantyhose! Sorry you are having trouble. :-(

Panty hose is a problem for me too!! I was standing in the wedding line at my son's wedding and the whole right side leaked all over the place! Didn't get the dress but underwear and hose were no good. Had extra supplies to change and extra panty hose for a run accident. Thank goodness for "be prepared" advice I got on this forum.

I cried from the frustration of it all and then put on my happy face and went back to the line for an hour more. Yes me and too tight panty hose have had problems.

Same with pants. Like waist above the stoma line and there aren't as many problems. I don't wear that tight of pants or skirts but if it hits wrong and matter can't flow out I have problems.

Workout wear the same thing. Erupted in a bike class once now and luckily I had a long jacket to tie around waist. No one comment on smell or anything. Who knows.

Yes I have had some doozers! LOL I try to laugh and see the humour or I'd be home all day alone. Have been there and didn't like it much. Want to be a normal human really bad. But there are days when I feel so different than those around me. then the guy with one legs comes to the gym to workout and I get a better perspective.

Equestrian, I use convex light and do not take fiber supplements. Basically, my output goes according to what I eat. So sometimes it's thick and sometimes it's thin. I am allowing myself to eat chocolate because it keps it fluid, and butter milk too. I got through yesterday and todayat work with no repeats of Saturday's problems. that was a day with thick stuff because I ate marzipan and did not drink enough. I have to see how it goes with pants. Some days it works with pantyhose, some not. I came home from the hospital with jeans pressing right up aainst my belly and stoma, and nothing terrible happened. But a few weeks later it was a disaster. That was during the time when the stoma was changing rapidly. I'll just have to see how it goes and not do any experiments on days when I go to work.

I have to wear draw string waist pants and shorts then I actually have them below the level of the stoma. I never could wear anything I want as some others do. May just depend on our shapes, where the stoma is located, and so on. Good luck. Rosemary

I have to wear pantyhose to work too but have never had a problem. I find it comfortable actually. I also wear firm fitting jeans and find them to be good too, although at times the top of the bag puffs up over the top of the jeans but thats usually when I need to empty, so apart from that no problems here.

Doreen if you tape the top of your bag to your stomach it won't do that
