I am 8 months post op and am pretty much pain free, but I do still notice that when I roll over and lay on my side in bed, I feel a slight amount of pain in my abdominal cavity... maybe in my muscle wall, but I can't exactly pinpoint the source. It hurts a bit more when I lie on my left side, but I also experience it some when I lie on my right side. When I am lying on my left side, the pain is two inches below my ribs on the right side and when I am lying on my right side, the pain is two inches below my ribs on the left... almost as if it is due to gravity pulling down in the opposite direction. It only happens right when I flip over to lie on the other side. Then it resolves in a couple of minutes and I am totally pain-free again. It is something I have pretty much had since surgery and I remember asking my surgeon about it and he really didn't have any answers as there were no signs of anything wrong. Is this just muscle spasms? Could it be a little scar tissue on the inside? My small intestines flopping around? It is not something I am really that concerned about as it is minor. Just more curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this.
