Well,
Yesterday was 3 months post op.....it was marked by me staying home from work due to very bad left shoulder pain....have pain in right shoulder as well but not as bad..
Anyway, had made an appointment to see a shoulder specialist (who also does knees...later on that) three weeks ago to see him today...
Well, he went through all the motion tests and offered me a shot or pills..I chose the shot...then he said I would be getting an MRI on both shoulders next week (ASAP!) to rule out a torn, or tearing, rotator cuff (i believe it's called).
So, the pain in my left shoulder has had the sharpness taken out of it so at least I can sleep better.
Also, asked him about my knees hurting..he basically said, prednisone is probably culprit in both shoulders and knees..with shoulders, tendons/ligaments probably have become weakened and bad things may have happened (MRI will show this, or not). And, with knees, prednisone, plus non-use after surgery of quadraceps has made muscles/ligaments/tendons around knee weak and they need to be strengthened...
Well, I thought I'd be feeling better by this time (at least my abs are feeling okay). And, now have to deal with the after affects of prednisone...looks like I will be having physical therapy regardless of what the MRI shows, and possible surgery (maybe) if the MRI shows anything seriously wrong in the shoulder(s)....
I'll let you know, good or bad, when I get the results in the next 10 days....
Regards,
jimmy
