Hi all!   I hope you're having a great weekend!    My surgery was supposed to be Monday.   (I had a colectomy last year and this year they found atypical cells in my rectum.   So I'm opting for having the whole thing out and getting a permanent ileostomy.)   Well, I had my yearly CT scan last week and it showed two spots on my liver.    Both my oncologist and my surgeon say it could be nothing, but they have to do biopsies to make sure.    I had one spot last year, and they said that was likely from the surgery.   But now they are seeing two spots.   confused    I'm nervous, but really trying to not freak out about it.   And I'm oddly disappointed because I was really looking forward to just getting this surgery over with and getting on with my life.   But, it seems like with all things medical it's hurry up and wait.  

If you could say a prayer that all goes well and that there is NO cancer, I'd be forever grateful.   Thanks!

Prayers to you!! Think positive thoughts...It will all be okay! I have had these scares a few times and it always turns out to be nothing. :)

Prayers for you, Jen! I know you must be bummed about not being able to keep to your timeline that you had planned out...but it is so great that they caught the spots early. Even though they are probably nothing, catching stuff like that early is always a good thing. What is their plan, to do the biopsies and then the surgery? It sounds like you are definitely in good hands...please be sure to keep us posted!

Praying for you, Jen, that it turns out to be nothing and you can be re-scheduled for surgery soon. Also for peace as you await the biopsy results.

Yes, the plan is biopsy, then reschedule the surgery. I'm going nuts waiting by the phone for the hospital to schedule the biopsies! The nurse told me last week that she'd call Friday. No call. So I called her late yesterday afternoon. She hadn't heard anything yet, so I'm still waiting. Argh! I've never been what you'd describe as a patient person.

I hate how they keep people waiting around for something that is that stressful to be patient about. I went through a scare with a breast lump years ago and it seemed like an eternity to get everything scheduled and done and it was all I could think about while it was going on. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Sending peace of mind and healthy body vibes to you. Hope you get the good news you need quickly so you can move on and get back to living your life! :-)

I finally had my biopsy Monday! That was loads of fun. (Yeah, okay, not so much.) They did give me Fentanyl, so it was mostly painless while it was happening. Afterwards I was pretty sore. That's mostly gone away now. I see my oncologist tomorrow to get the results. One good thing, whatever the results are, the two spots are very small. That didn't make the biopsy much fun since the doc had to move the guide needle alot, but if it's cancer, at least it's small!

So much positive spirit will get you far. My prayers I add to the others, for you to be safe in God's hands, and all goes well.
