Hello,
I now think found the bag which suits me best, the convex perlican bag, which is supersoft and lovely, and I managed to get 2.5 days wear time out of it without any major problems. Although I cut my bag quite tightly, I still had 0.5 cm of sore skin on one side of my stoma, which was bleeding. So I thought I gave these seals a try and got some Salt's sure seals (I think they are similar to Eakins). I've molded them and applied my convex bag then as instructed. As my output is quite liquid, the seals has done it's job and absorbed it. But now it looks like it swelled up that much that the convexity is flattened out, if you know what i mean. I'm thinking that next time I only use a little bit (not the whole ring) and mold it around my stoma.
How much of these seals du you use and how flat do you mold it?
Does a stomahesive paste or barrier wipe do the same job, i.e. preventing the skin from getting damaged? How long does their effect usually last?
Thanks
Monika
