2 weeks till colonotomy good news and bad

hey you guys its me my sugery will be in 2 WEEKS!!!! my school work is no where near where i wanted it to be smhair .....  so i plan to stay after school everyday next week. i personnaly fell like i have lost sight in my goals and i know that im slcking :/ .. Somehow it helps for me to talk A LOT about the sugery a lot of people at school now about it i decided that im probally gong to name my stoma (something german) because i stady that language [guten tag] to anyone who knows german :)

anyway mom still hasnt gotten a pet for me i might jus keep my grandparents or ask to just watch my neigbors dog during the day. im excitement keeps getting higher for some reason.

but the bad thing about it is im bleeding more iam taking inemas but im pretty confident that it wont stop before sugery so does that mean i will have to have the 3 step process? i hope not . thanks for reading ! smilewinkgrin

Only your dr can decide how many steps it is. I'm glad you're being open with people about it!! That really helps.

I was just reading your question about whether blueglass's problem could happen to you, and no, it couldn't, because she has a permanent ileo and had her rectum sewn closed but it never fully closed. That's what's wrong. You aren't having your rectum sewn closed because you're going to use it again! Even if you did have a permanent ileo, that problem is super rare. That's why she's had such trouble fixing it.

Hi Jackie- It doesn't necessarily mean you will need 3 step surgery because you are bleeding. It's really just up to your surgeon...he/she will know what's best for you so try not to worry. I was bleeding pretty bad right up to the day I had surgery and I was able to have 2 step surgery.

I just said what Stephanie said, but on the other thread....

Jackie, cut yourself some slack.... you are approaching a major surgery -- it's a big deal. No need to be down on yourself for 'slacking" -- you're sick that's why it's hard to keep up. When you're better it'll be easier. It's great that you want to do well and have goals....

Go Jackie!! You can totally do it. Don't worry about keeping up completely, like everyone else has said, you'll be able to do so much better when you can focus because you aren't sick anymore. So for now, focus on getting yourself better. It might be a little tough staying on top of everything for a couple of weeks while you recover, but in the end it will be SO worth it. Be sure to keep us all posted!
