keep going to the bathroom but im not eating anything

so i kinda have this fear shocked   and emptying my bag all the time just is somewhat stressfull so i try not to eat much so nothing "goes" into my ileobag... but theres still stufff coming out its all liquid . im suppose to be taking imodium (i have chewabels) but there so NASTY and what does the imodium do exactlly will it make my bowels come out formed??????.i know its not smart of me to not eat as much as i usually desire but seems that i miswell because im still going to the bathroom :( a lot ....

Even if you don't eat you will still go and you will have more gas. Its bile and other icky stuff coming out. Why don't you just take immodium. Pills? They will just slow or stop your output for a while. For example I'm going to a club and concert tonight so I will take some immodium shortly before I go and while I'm there so I hopefully won't have to empty.
If you don't eat esp this early on the stuff that comes out is gonna be way grosser than food coming out!

You have to eat -- at least protein -- helps you heal a lot faster. Take the immodium advice.

Actually if you have less in you, more liquid will come out into the bag and you will maybe feel a bit dehydrated. Try to have at least a few crackers or some toast with some type of protein; cottage cheese or yogurt? Baby food bananas and yogurt will thicken things up. Show Me the Whey Protein Powder is good to mix in with the yogurt.

I don't know about taking Immodium unless your doc told you to. It will slow and thicken but you are interrupting the natural digestive process (I only take it if I have severe attacks of diarrhea). I took too much one time and it made the output like concrete that I then had to drink a ton of grape juice to melt it down and pass it. Now that my ileo is 4 years old, if I eat something pretty solid, after a gush of watery output like as in being really hungry, then the solid food really slows the output. Not sure if something is up with me or if this is normal, but I never got into the immodium taking unless really needed.

Basically, your output is going to be more frequent than it will be in a few months time, and that is only IF you still have your stoma, you might have a j-pouch before the output becomes more regular.
I can only tell you that for the first 2-3 months, I was getting up twice a night to empty my bag. then it somehow became more well-behaved, can't explain it any other way, and most of the time I can sleep through the night without getting up, and I empty about 4 times a day, if I wait for the bag to be about 2/3 full.
You might want to check not how much you eat but when you eat. I eat a lot during the day starting around 9 and then very, very lightly in the evening, like a yoghurt or a small sandwich. Never a big dinner-time meal. That helps a lot.

Don't stop eating because you need the protein and vitamins to heal!

What immodium does is slow down motility, so it makes food move more slowly through your small intestine. Your output will not be formed with an ileo, but immodium will make it take longer to come out, and might make it thicker. I don't like it because it makes me gassy and I think the output just comes out later in the day.... but if you are losing too much fluid, it will slow that down, and I did use lomotil (like immodium) after surgery. A lot of people have good success with it.

You can get regular pills not chewable, and they aren't gross.

Ditto what the others say ... not eating just makes green liquid output, doesn't stop it.... I don't like to go long stretches w/no food at all. And you do need food to heal now.

For me no food = more output and all liquid which is gross and much more prone to leaks. You have to eat. Your body has a huge job trying to heal everything from surgery and you have to fuel it to help it along.

If I din't eat then I have loads of liquid output. It is better to eat something regularly and if you stick to foods that thicken output up you won't need immodium. Make sure you have a small snack evyer few hours, some crackers or piece of bread - anything just to keep your calories up and it will make you feel better.

thanks :) today i had a large meal and i fell like i have been going like crazy we were travling so i diddnt want to have my mom pull over every timemy bag was 1/3 full soi just wait until it was all the way full :/ but i still had to pull over like 3 times and now my tmp. is low
