Hi everyone,
I had my total colectomy on Tuesday. The day of surgery and the morning after I had some movements, but they were mostly blood and the doctors told me it was leftover from surgery. So I don't think those count as real movements.
Thursday and Friday I had one or two movements, liquid, but they were tiny and difficult to get out because I cannot push right now. Today (saturday) I have still not had the urge to go, even though last night I ate a couple of crackers and a little vanilla wafer cookie, and 2 bites of pudding. I've also been sipping water, juice, and eating ice chips. I thought liquids would be enough to make me go, since I now have no colon?
How long was it for any of you before you started really going? I was expecting to be going a lot but I'm not, and I'm pretty freaked out. I just talked to another Dr. and he said "oh don't worry about it." How can i NOT worry?!
They are adjusting my pain medication because I've been in a ton of pain...and then they are talking about sending me home
