random pain

So once in a while I will get this weird, excruciating pain. It feels like it's just behind my stoma. I guess the best way to describe it is if someone took their fist and just punched me right there. It will come for about 2 minutes and hurts so bad my body gets all numb and tingly and then it will go away. It's been going on for a while now but has been happening a little more frequently. I originally thought that maybe I didn't chew some food too well or something, but sometimes it won't output or output very little when this happens. I know the stoma contracts a lot as well when this happens so don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I had my colon and rectum removed due to crohns disease and I had a colonoscopy right before and the biopsies showed no crohns in the small intestine.  I just hope it's not coming back.

Agree wit blueglass, does sound sort of like a blockage or partial blockage, possibly a stricture. Have a word with your GI/surgeon as they can do a contrast MRI scan which will show any narrowing or problem which isn't always visible on a scope.

Sometimes after I eat and my stoma is retracted I get a sharp pain at my stoma. I think it is peristalsis pushing the food through the retracted stoma. Kinda like a blockage. Does not last long. Does your stoma retract?

Ditto to what Dan said...is your stoma a straight end ileo or a loop end ileo? Mine's the latter and it's definitely funkier than a straight loop ileo and does things like that. Other consideration would be scare tissue...but if you want to rule things out have an upper GI to see if anything is going on.
