Since some of us had a big talk a while ago about patching ostomy bags w/duct tape and such, I thought you might like to see this real medical study called:

The efficacy of duct tape vs cryotherapy in the treatment of verruca vulgaris (the common wart).

It shows that duct tape works significantly better on warts in children than liquid nitrogen. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12361440

I have a few little warts on my fingers that I've had for years..... I did have an extended trial of duct tape at one point and it didn't work.... will have to wait for the study on adults w/autoimmune diseases....

Warts on fingers with autoimmune disease? My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and warts on her fingers. Never heard of the duct tape treatment.

about 40 years ago my wife went th our Dr to have her ears pierced. I went with her. After the piercing I said something about the wart on her finger. Dr. looks and says "wait a minute". He left the room and came back with a liquid. He put it on the wart and it bubbled and smoked. I thought she would go out through the roof! The wart was gone. I still have scars from when we got home.

Well, I just looked it up, and warts are caused by a virus, so if you are immune compromised, more likely to get them (so I guess maybe the drugs, not the disease itself?)

Two of mine are on my fingertips and one on my inside knuckle. My doc thought that the cure would be worse than the disease if she burned them off. Really not a big deal.....

Duct tape helped mine some as did tea tree oil.... but when I stopped, the just went back to the size they were earlier.

Hopefully at some point my (hopefully) improving immune system will venture into these far reaches of my anatomy and notice them!

Seems some people thing duct tape works on scars too...... so maybe you could use some too! (some say the idea is that it fools the immune system to treat that area).
