Well, after an awful three and a half months since stage one of his surgery and ileostomy, and two bouts of Kidney stones, a total bowel obstruction with unscheduled emergency surgery, and a lithotripsy, Brandon is scheduled for Stage 2 of 3, his JPouch surgery. And he cannot wait. While both previous surgeries were done on an emergency basis, he didnt have time to think about
them. This time he is getting somewhat anxious. But we are very hopeful that this surgery will not come with the same unexpected complications. I almost hate to put that in writing for fear of jinxing us. We have become very superstitious!!
He has had a very difficult time keeping up with his classes after being back in school, then out, then back in, then out again and this has been especially difficult for him since he is typically a straight A student. He has missed a total of 35 days of school this year. He loves being back in school and I hate the thought that he may have to do virtual school online.
His surgery is scheduled for Dec 23 at the Cleveland Clinic. I must say that I am very grateful that a series of events led us to our surgeon and the Cleveland Clinic as they have been amazing!
Happy Holidays and wishes of good health to all!!
