Often itching is a sign of healing in incisions. I haven't had too much of it myself, but mostly I scratch a little and use distraction/will power to try to avoid it..... I'm getting all itchy reading this.... you could try checking w/a nurse to see if there's anything you can put on it to help w/that.

When that happened with mine I was told it was the nerve endings knitting back together, used to druve me nuts for a while and then gradually settled back down.

All they have to so is take down your ileo. They aren't going to cut you open, you already have your pouch. That's how I understand it anyway.

I would ask them to make sure, but I think they just cut around a the stoma and use that hole to put the intestine back inside and then close it all up. Maybe someone who has had their reversal already will chime in on this.....

At any rate, my surgery is three steps and when they cut me the second time they used the same line as the first time. Both were open though so I have a scar from about three inches below my bra line to my pubic bone. I don't care though....those are war wounds from kicking UC's you-know-what. I'm a warrior and I'm proud.
