things have changed so much for e but im greatful for everything this is the last time ill see mr. wiggels part of me doesnt want to let go because im use to it now but i know ill be ok thanks for all the support and prayers ....i will keep you updayed later today :)

I remember glancing down at my stoma - of which I never named, I had it for such a short time, 8 weeks - and saying goodbye. My husband chuckled.

As far as post op pain and recovery, my takedown surgery was far easier to recover from than my resection - wow, was it ever. Remember to do your breathing exercises each hour and walk as much as you can when it's time to begin walking. In fact when I began my walking phase of recovery, I tried to be in my bed only to sleep at night, at the most 9 hours in a 24 hour time period. The rest of the time I was either in my hospital room's recliner or out haunting the halls (one nurse said, honey are you going for a record or something?, I laughed until my gut said to stop laughing so much and said, oh no I just want to recover more quickly, she said, aha, this is not your first colon surgery now is it? Bingo I said!).

You've got tremendous support here at HW. Remember that. Heal well.

Thanks im doing well pain score out of this world getting my second dosage of morPhine or somthing ....had the hicups a while ago OUCH i forgot i didnt have a bag couPle of times and tried to re-position it but anyway does anyone kno how to get rid of the pain from where my stoma use tO b it hurts soooooo bad

Jackie by now the morphine must have started to work and you are out of the woods. I would imagine the pain is not going to last as long as with the first operation, and I only mean the pain you are not going to feel anyway because of the drugs they give you.. They are going to take care of you in the hospital. And your bag is gone.... THE BAG IS GONE FOREVER!

I kno foreverrrrrrrr. I tlk to the nurse she told me i recived 5diffrent types of painkillers so its just good ole gas lol

And don't feel bad about not seeing Mr. Wiggels again. He is still with you, but he got promoted to a much better job.

Now tell us how great it feels! I get my takedown in March, and that means I will have had a stoma for 11 months. I cannot believe that this part of my life with bag is going to be over!

Hope the pain subsides soon.

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes you to get used to not having the bag....

Wonderful to see you back Jackie. I am sorry you're in pain but it will all be worth it when you're feeling back to your old self again. Congratulations on being so brave, you've been through a lot, you are a very strong person and an inspiration.

thanks i can never forget about you i saw the chool teacher in the hospital today and she said that she has told other people about this website so im glad i can help.
LIFE WITHOUT A BAG is great B'Dereh pooping is EASY slides right out lol it stinks though i continue to touch my use to be stoma the pain after surgery is all gas i sadly am isolated and cant leave my room due to other health issues :/ but i do walk in my room!!!!! i cant sleep on mystomach yet or side but i sleep more comfortable now
