Hi everyone! I have been pretty scarce around here, but I wanted to give a little update...
My steps 2 and 3 were done last Tuesday, and I have already come very far. I was in a lot of pain when I woke up, despite being on tons of morphine; eventually that calmed down. The wait for things to "wake up" was not fun... the gas pains were pretty horrendous. When I finally passed a little something very late Friday night, I was so happy! By Saturday night, though, I was miserable going so so so much, passing tons of greenish-clear liquid. During one of the rounds that night, my pca asked me how many bowel movments I'd had that evening, and when I told her, "Umm... maybe 15?", she hardly believed me. Haha. Anywho, I was able to tolerate food (though I only had little bites of things), and so I was sent home Sunday. That night was pretty miserable as well (so very glad to have bought a bunch of Depends on the way home...), but last night was much better- I probably only got up 4 times (as opposed to 10 the previous night), and had very minimal leakage. Today I have only really gone once so far. I've found that I will feel like I have to go, but then nothing "comes out," a lot of times. I guess that's normal?
Alrighty... time for a nap (been sleeping a lot.)
