immodium overdose?

Due to it snowing outside and it being so cozy in here, I slept until noon today and only got up when the phone rang. During the phone call I took a celebrex (bad knees) and passibly 2 immodium, thing is, I was so groggy that when I finished the phone call and went for a shower, I couldn't remember if I had taken the 2 immodium or not. So I took 2 before the shower.

Now I'm wondering if I need to worry about my intestine being paralized for the day na dhaving problems getting it started up again. Any experience here?

Well things seem to be moving, even if I had taken 4 immodium. Still I'd be curious to hear if anyone had any experience with taking too much so that things stopped happening, and what you did to get them started again.

You'll be fine! When I was having liquid output when I first got my ileo, I was taking 4 at once and 8-10 a day. I think compared to those with a colon, we can take more loperamide.

You can take up to 8 Imodium at a time, any more than that and it's not effective.

Before surgery, I had trouble figuring out the right dose of immodium, which I mostly took when travelling. I got plugged up once for a day and a half, which was weird because I was going all the time then. It didn't feel good, but it didn't cause any major harm either.

My GP down the street told me never to take more than 4 in one day. Was he mainly thinking of people with colons? Because most of the time I take the 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. and still have quite luiquidy, pourable output. 6 a day would probably do the trick better.

Yes people with colons can't take as much Imodium.

One time I had bad ileo diarrhea and ate slow down foods that did not help. THEN I took like 4 immodium. When stuff started to pass it was literally like thick poop with someone with an intact colon. So I had to drink HOT TEA, lots of grape juice then walk and walk. FINALLY all this concrete stuff came out of me into the bag. It was so thick it stood up in the toilet.

So if not much is moving, I would just do liquids for awhile. If on the other hand you are OK, then lessons learned. Rosemary
