15 days before take down

I am just venting. No one no one no one at work would every imagine that I could do without stress right now.

I am pretty sure that I will have a real paper contract filed away by the time I go back to the hospital. It's a really good feeling, to have my existence sured up for the next three years, definitely changes my entire perspective. I don't know why I have been so distrustful about the contract business, it's like I truly expect the absolute worst scenario to be inevitable, when in reality things have been getting better (cured of UC, new job and new apartment) and my boss and I are always talking about projects into the future well beyond the end of my present contract.
(But let's see ... it's not paper until it's paper)..

I just counted. Your takedown is only 16 days after mine, not that long now either. I can give you the daily poop. I mean scoop. (Sorry some jokes are irresistible.)

 

It used to be that work contracts in Germany were forever and the company could have a lot of problems if they want to fire someone. State -funded institutes, like where I work and unis too, the contracts can only run for the duration of the funding. So I could even get a contract until 2016, which is 4 years, when the place is up for review again. But I still don't have the contract and I could have sworn the personnel lady was being weird to me today. Paranoid thoughts that my boss just told me I get a new contract to keep me off his back for a few weeks. I can really have a lot of fun with thoughts if I want to …..

I actually counted 359 days it will have been that I have a stoma, on the day of take-down.

I don't know if it us who are weird, discussing our toilet adventures in detail all the time, or people who don't and never would discuss it. After all, we are the ones who know that it really is a world in itself and definitely a world that exists. Other people just don't know about it. So who are the weird ones?

What is happening with the girl?

Well here's hoping it all works out and you get your new contract. Maybe you're just a little paranoid, I'm sure it'll be ok.

Wow that's almost exactly one year with a stoma. I'll have only had mine for just over 8 months when I get takedown...in 29 days! Counting down the days now!!

Who knows...we're still very close and get on very well. I just find it difficult to read her most of the time. I think I'm just paranoid, but at the same time I don't want to get too hung up on her cos if it turns out she doesn't want the same as me then I'll be pretty upset.

Well it would have only been for 6 months if I'd of had the op in February as planned. Yeah mine had to be in 3 stages due to the amount of pred and how ill I was in August.

Well most full-time jobs are indefinite contracts, unless of course you're fired or leave. Contract jobs usually only last for 3-12 months, although if you're a sefl-employed consultant I guess you may work on various jobs for different companies with varying contract ranges.

You've dealt with it for so long you'll have forgotten what it's like to not have to deal with the bag everyday. I know that's how I will feel. Relieved as well hopefully.

Any news on the contract?

Had a trip to see one of our big clients today, just the two of us. We had such a good day together it was brilliant. Wasn't thinking about "what if's" and how she reacted to things, I just had a great time with her.

Hang in there....you are getting so close! It feels so weird to wake up and your ostomy is gone. It isn't bad, just odd. I finally quit patting myself in that area to check how full my pouch is! For the first couple of weeks I would find myself shifting as I got out of bed in a way that I know was designed to make sure I didn't squish the pouch, etc. It really becomes a part of you when you've had it for awhile.

I hope you're dealing with the waiting well and all worked out with your contract.

You've had a lot to deal with...the time is coming soon. Sorry the contract is 2 yrs and not 3 yrs as hoped but at least there is a 2 year committment for you which is important too.
