In the hospital again.

Basically, two days ago I started spiking super high fevers (104 was the highest), so yesterday my surgeon had me come in for bloodwork and a CT scan. Turns out that abcess he drained last month is back, and brought a friend. Tomorrow I'm headed back to radiology to have the abcesses drained without actual surgery. I'm nervous about the procedure- hoping I'm sedated enough to not remember anything, like when I used to get colonoscopies. Doctor told me I'll probably be in here until next week. Siiiggghh.

Hope this time gets it straightened away for you. Definitely be sedated. Let us know how you're doing when you're up to it.

I had the drainage done in radiology. They couldn't give me general anesthesia, but I did have a large dose of Ativan and then something they used via IV to sort of twilight me. There were a few tense moments for me, but I got through it. You will probably have a JP drain placed, too so they can let things continue to drain. I hated that thing at the time, but looking back it wasn't too bad. Good luck to you! You will feel so much better with that infection out of your body.

     about a month or so post op a hematoma developed inside my anus (it was not sewn closed).  Therefore, the surgeon had easy access.  He stuck the anuscope inside   and suctioned it out!   I had no anesthesia at all....just whoooop...in there, pfffffffffft...out with the hematoma....and done...thought I would pass out!    He placed me on two different antibiotics.  One was Cipro, and I had a bad reaction to it, so had to be switched to Bactrim.  I returned two weeks later and asked if they could just give me a little something so I wouldn't have the discomfort.  Apparently, they have no anesthesia in the office.  If I wanted it I would have to go across the street to the hospital.  So I just toughed  it out.  It wasn't bad because he didn't have to use the suction tube.

     I have skin flaps outside the anus and from time to time I have itching but I use Calmoseptine and it works like a charm.

Now how did I manage to do a think like that?

Thank you all for the well wishes! I had the procedure done Friday. I was sooooo nervous going in, the sedatives they gave me did nothing- I was wide awake and crying the whole time... I felt like a big baby and kind of embarresed! It was much shorter than I expected, though. The abcesses were in my pelvic region too, Marianne, so they went through my buttcheek! Ugh. They got a lot of the junk out, though, and didn't have to place a drain! I feel sooo much better today, and have done more walking than I was doing even at home and am eating normally! I was so sick when I came in Wednesday I couldn't eat and could hardly stand. So now we're waiting for tomorrow to see what my white bloodcell count is. If it's normal I'll go home on oral antibiotics; if it's still high, I'll go home with IV antibiotics. Either way, I'm going home! I'll have another CT scan in about 10 days to make sure things are going well. I'm looking forward to getting back on track towards takedown!
