im so beyond bored!

You may be able to tell that since I'm posting every two minutes,lol. I don't feel bad at all, I'm not tired I'm barely sore, but I know I can't do a lot of things. So here I sit, on my soon to be fat butt, watching more tv and playing games on face book! My grandma has decided I shouldn't be opening doors, so she's wanting to do everything, my kid doesn't want to stay home cause I can't run around with him, and I can't drive yet! Id be happy to go to chuckecheese right now! Heck id probably be happy just to go to the gas station!
After my first surgery I felt bad and was coming off pred, so the sitting around wasn't so bad. But this time its awful, I need something to do!

It was not something I hope to do again, my insides need to stay apart;)
We are supposed to have fairly nice weather this week so I'm going to take some walks. I go back to the doctor on Friday, so I will find out about driving then. My grandma thinks it will be 6 weeks, but I'm thinking he should let me drive next week. I really hate having to ask my dad to take my son back and forth to school everyday!

Hey summerstorm - did you download the hunger games yet? I hope so! Interest in the movie is sky high, the hunger games are everywhere now. I knew it would be this big and a huge success (early movie reviews are mostly positive, yay).

I hope you read it.

Great suggestion, I now see them fully stocked at my local Kroger store and Target. Target seems to have always kept them in stock, my Kroger store sold out weeks ago but now I see more.

I am beyond thrilled this movie seems poised to be as good as the critics say it is and fans are responding by reading the book and buying tix to the movie.

I've been on a hunger games obsession for a year now!

OMG! What is the scene of? The woods/arena or the Capitol or District 12? lol

I work for a school (cashier in a cafeteria) and our 6th graders are wearing T's to school. I'm wearing my HG pins on my apron. There was an apron that said - Mellark Bakery - and I was so tempted to order it. But coworker wise, I'm surrounded by people who are not fans and think it's a "weird story, about kids killing kids, who wants to see that" - and they are shut off from hearing any comments from me or our Principal/Vice P., doesn't matter, I just walk away shaking my head, as if that is THE story. They did ask me once why I like it and I said - it's my new Lost, my new Harry Potter and my new Star Wars - all rolled into one!

Bluegrass - no this isn't a typical genre I'm into. Far from it (usually read light hearted romance books, the ones that Oprah would recommend too, when she had her show).

That said, I've always gravitated towards good vs evil plots and always, always root for the underdog. Harry was the underdog in the HP books and movies. And now the Hunger Games fills this void for me, I seem to like novels that center on loyal, good, honest characters who rise to the occasion and do the right thing. So that is why I love the hunger games.

Aside from the Anne of Green Gables novels and then Little House books, I never got into YA lit. Then my daughters convinced me to read the HP books. I read the final HP book 3 times. It's that good. There's just something comforting about watching a HP movie with my daughters (they are 21 and 24 now). It's just a pleasant 2 hour escape for us.

I saw a really good YA fictional book on display at the library a year ago, and I checked it out. Liked it a lot, for an older kids' book. Reviewers for that book would not stop recommending the hunger games on amazon. After a while I thought, fine I'll order the first book, to see what all the fuss is about.

The fuss is justified, these books are that good.

I understand your questions were not judgmental, my coworkers don't even want to discuss it with me! lol I told them months ago the movie would be this huge and they thought I just landed from Mars. Maybe they're annoyed I was right, although I never said - I told you so.

If you're curious, just read the book. You can read it in a matter of days. I read all 3 over 8 days.

A colleague was telling me recently how she started reading young adult fiction to connect w/her God son, and that she found out that a lot of it is wonderful. I might read just to talk about w/my partner's daughter (although I'm not sure how attached she is to the book -- she actually never mentioned it before, but I'll ask her later today).
