calmoseptine?

I'm checking it out, and it looks a bit pricey because I have to order it from Germany. I'm reading that the active ingredient is zinc oxide, which is the same active ingredient as the baby diaper rash cream I can buy here anywhere (which helps a lot, as long as I don't have too many bm's and have to keep wiping it off and putting it back on).

Does anyone think that calmoseptine will protect the skin any better than another product with the same active ingredient?

There is nothing that I have found that works better than Calmoseptine. I tried Desitin (baby diaper rash cream) which is Zinc oxide and it just didn't work as well. In fact it made me itchier.

I guess you are not in the USA. I order it from Amazon.com. Can you try that?

I've not used either one, but have also heard good things about Ilex cream if you want additional options.

     Not sure about the baby ointment but my surgeon highly recommends Calmoseptine and it has been a Godsend to me.

     I have a permanent ileo but my surgeon left the anus open and I still have those annoying skin flaps that developed when I suffered with UP.  Sometimes they itch and are just plain annoying.  I thought he would have removed them during the surgery, but he didn't for some reason or other.  Anyway, I use the Calmoseptine down there whenever I have the itching and it seems to work.

I couldn't find Calmoseptine locally and wasn't willing to spend a lot to have it shipped, so I bought Desitin at a local store.  Never having tried the alternative, Desitin has been perfectly fine.  It takes care of any burning and calms perfectly.  I use it every night and during the day as needed.  Good luck!
