Hello!
I haven't posted in quite some time.
My husband is doing well. We are nearing the one year anniversary of his surgery, and though there were a lot of complications at first, he is loving life without a colon. It really only caused him grief, and having his ostomy has given him a pain-free life that he sought for many years but didn't think was possible. Of course he still has a scar from the dreaded foam and wound vac situation he had to endure, and he is still suffering the lingering side effects from years on high doses of Prednisone, but he is healthier than he's ever been and getting better every day.
He finally decided to start a blog. Full disclosure- he is a philosopher, and a Christian, so those are going to be prominent themes in his writing. But his journey through illness and surgery is also a prominent figure in his work. He's only posted once so far, but he's already written some future entries. I'm just proud he's at the point where he can talk about what he's been through and continue to heal!
I suggested he title the blog "philostomy"-- he thought it conjured up some gruesome images. I like his title better, anyway.
