I had a total colectomy ileorectal anastomosis in January. ( Along with a hysterectomy). All went great until I came home and ate something from a new restaurant, not knowing it contained wheat ( I also have celiac).. I ended up back at the hospital for 3 weeks until the swelling in my stomach and small intestine went down enough for me to eat a soft diet.
I am just having so many issues, that I am not sure what is normal and what is not.
My surgeon is a wonderful man and is also in the Army, he is now overseas for a year. He referred me back to the GI that sent me to him. Now I am soo FRUSTRATED, I get no answers, and no support whatsoever
My symptoms include constant nausea, bowel movements go from liquid dark brown/black, to stabbing abdominal pain followed by bloody liquid stool, to pure bile, then constipation. The GI is a "let's wait and see" kind of guy, which I have no problem with, but we are now at the end of MAY..how long does "wait and see" take??????
Diet wise, I do NOT eat raw vegetables, seeds, skins ( such as grapes, blueberries). My diet basically consists of 1 cup of yogurt a day and a gallon of V8 splash juice. And 1/2 gallon of water. If I eat any more, I become nauseous, start vomiting, and disoriented.
My GI knows this, and again "let's wait and see"... I am just so depressed, I really need someone who understands and can tell me what is normal at this point.. any help is welcome!!!
