We are headed out on Saturday to go there! Has anybody been? We are staying at an all inclusive resort (they better have a lot of pina coloda mix!) But I'm planning on taking some snack foods, bags of chips crackers stuff like that because they will probably cost a fortune there and I want to make sure we have snacks if we leave the resort, and I have a beyond picky eater! I read their list of what's allowed in and not allowed in and it seems only adult materials and for some reason a newspaper from Chicago are on the no no list, you can even bring a carcass if you have a stamp! Who travels with a carcass?
Anyway, I was wondering if you had taken meds in if they had questioned those? I've never been to another country like this. I've been to several on cruise ships but they don't check things. I plan to leave the meds in the rx bottles and carry them with me. It's nothing anyone would want, like pain killers, just some stuff I have to have for a non stomach related issues,lol. I'm worried they will take them away for some reason! I've packed 8 changes, for 5 days, I usually pack 20 when we go on cruises and so far (knock on wood) I've only used one on each cruise! I plan on changing Friday then we will be back Thursday so I shouldn't have to change at all! Do you think I should take more than 8? I actually have 8 wafers but more than 8 bags. And of course my sure seals and such. Anyway, I rambled, when all I really was asking was about the medicines!

I have never been but I remember hearing NOT to leave your resort area. Have a great time! :)

PS- Only drink bottled water.

I went all inclusive a couple of years ago and loved every minute!!! The food was amazing and people at the resort were great. We left the resort for excursions (be sure that you do Dunn's River Falls). Beautiful. Had no problem with the travel except I took way too many clothes!! Bathing suit during the day and shorts or dresses at night. Have fun!!!! I' hope to go back soon!

We are on the other side of where dunns river falls is, but we are going to ocho rios in February on a cruise and plan to do it then, we heard it was really cool!
I had read you can drink the water there, but maybe not!
We are only planning on leaving to go to margarativlle, they have a waterslide that goes off the top of the building!

Its awesome here! We just came back from seeing a fire breathing woman! And a show where my son got to get up and limbo for the audience. I had no problems getting my meds in, they didn't check my bags at all, hopefully getting out will be as easy. And you can drink the water, at least in the resort. It might not be safe in town but its fine here. I've been drinking enough miami vices itwill kill anything in my stomach anyway I have discovered dark rum is the best thing ever! I got a little dehydrated today I think, too much sun and rum and not enough water,so for dinner I had a lot of salt on my food and a lot of water and am feeling fine now! I have to remember to drink more water,lol.

We got our feet in, but there's not really a beach here, with high tide there is none at all and at low tide there is enough for two beach chairs long ways. And the water is full of sea weed! There is a waterpark so we've been there.
