HELP!!! Bag change.

I have to change my bag every day. Does anyone know how to stop it from  going while changing the bag? Mine goes nonstop everytime I change my bag. I also have pyoderma right under my stoma, so it's so hard to get it clean when it is going every where. Plus it burns and as soon as I pack it with this special gauze it goes again. It has been taking over an hour to change my bag and I am getting VERY irritated!!! smhair

One thing to try is to not eat after 5 pm the night before the morning when you change. Other ideas I have heard is eat a marshmallow and it will temporarily stop the flow. Good luck. Rosemary

PS if you are new ileostomate this should slow over time.

I eat a few (3 or 4) large marshmallows about 10-15 min before changing and that's good. I also notice after eating syrup (with pancakes or whatever), I end up not having output for a while.

I have another stomal stenosis coming but you would not want that. That will stop things then all of a sudden they gush out. You do not want this. Try the marshmallows then as annoying as it is during a change, be glad that your stoma is working. Rosemary

don't eat 5-6 hours before bag change. And that last meal before bag change.. eat slowing foods only -peanut butter, oatmeal, rice,...
also why are you changing your bag everyday? that is unusual.
