Ostomy Consumer Reports?

Yesterday when I saw my nurse, she mentioned that one day on a lark she and some of the other nurses dropped an Eakin seal, an Adapt ring, and a coloplast ring in some water to see what would happen. She said the coloplast dissolved much more quickly than the others, and the Eakin was the best by far.

I asked if they were going to publish the result, and my surgeon said it's really hard to publish anything with brand names in it, because they get free samples and things, and everyone thinks it's biased etc (course there are some of these issues w/the drug studies too....).

I thought this water test was amusing and wanted to mention it. Then I started imagining consumer reports for ostomy supplies, and what kinds of weird tests one might do .... seemed like it could be fun, so any takers?
